Cambodia challenge
How would you like to cycle from Vietnam to Cambodia , and visit an IDE project en route? We hope to recruit 20 supporters for the Vietnam to Cambodia bike challenge in February 2008. You will have a chance to visit the women's pottery factory supported by IDE where they manufacture the Ceramic Water Purifier seen here. This simple technology can provide 23 litres of clean drinking water per day. In a country with one of the highest childhood mortality rates in Asia , the CWP can save thousands of children's lives for less than £3 per family.
The cycle ride will take place from the 1st - 20th November 2007 or 20th January -3 rd February 2008 and you need to sign up soon to reserve your place. This challenge entails cycling 500kms past plantations, across waterways and through villages deep in the heart of the lush Mekong Delta in Vietnam, to the dry lands and contrasting sights of ancient Cambodia. You will pass temples and countless colourful pagodas, havens of calm and tranquility and bustling markets. Your route takes you off the beaten track and into the heart of Meking Delta. Your end destination is the town of Siem Reap from where you can explore the ancient city of Angkor , one of the world's most astonishing architectural achievements. Few locals will have seen foreigners cycling past, and their interest and hospitality will spur on even the most tired cyclist to keep on pedaling!
For more information on the trip, visit our Charity Challenge webpage . You can sign-up there by clicking on the link or you can contact IDE on 020 8288 7702. Please share thi s information with your friends, family and colleagues that might be interested. We are also seeking corporate partners that might be interested in forming corporate teams.

2007
3rd/4th August London Triathlon.
The London Triathlon is not just for the super fit and each year 1000’s of people take part for the first time! The sport involves a continuous race comprising of a swim, followed by a cycle and then finally a run. Competitors race against the clock which starts as they enter the swim and stops as they cross the finish line. Anybody can enter the individual category, or if you feel like you need moral support, why not enter a team? This means that the events are run as relays with each team member completing a stage of the race before passing on a timing chip to the next person.
